Dear Students,

Going Merry has just launched MerryApps, which allow you to apply for up to 12 scholarships with one application (and each application only has one essay!). There are four different MerryApps:

 · Career Goals (9 scholarships)

· Overcoming a Challenge (8 scholarships)

· Community Service (9 scholarships)

· Social Media (12 scholarships)

You can do just one of them or all four! And it's fine to reuse any essays you've already done on these topics, so think about what you've written so far this year. The first deadline is in 8 days, so there's not much time! You can get started by creating an account at www.goingmerry.com. It takes 30 seconds and then you can go straight to the MerryApps!

Good luck!

 Counselor Friar

 ADDITIONALLY

There are countless websites that will help you find college scholarships. If you have been accepted at your school of choice or are curious about the financial aide offered at a particular school, go into that schools’ website under financial and they will have their own scholarships that are available to you. Once you are looking at your acceptances and trying to figure out which school is offering the best financial package to you, do not hesitate to call their financial aide department and ask for further explanation. Once you are accepted at a school, they will want to have you attend their school so don’t be shy about asking if the school can dig deeper to come up with a better financial package for you. – I have witnessed this “car shopping” approach and it usually works!!

Below are several additional websites for you to check into. There is a scholarship for anything you can think of: for “Tall People” to “Laugh out loud” and beyond. Some take quite a bit of time to apply and some take minutes. Good Luck! Ms. Friar

Here is one website that has a plethora of scholarships and is fairly easy to navigate.

I have given you the website and a sampling of some of the scholarships that they will guide you to.

REMEMBER- You must have a FAFSA filled out in order to accept any $$ from a college or scholarship sponsor.
