Dear Students,
You------EVERY student will need an FSA ID!
To clarify: you will not be able to accept any kind of scholarship or aide without filling out a FAFSA!!!
To make sure students can finance their education AND EAT! That’s why it’s important for students to get started on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (or, what everyone in our world just calls FAFSA).
Each year, 79 percent of our undergraduates share more than $100 million in financial aid.
Students applying for the 2019-20 academic year can begin filling out a form immediately at fafsa.gov. If they keep their 2017 tax forms handy, they’ll probably finish in less than 30 minutes. Pretty painless, right?
The priority deadline is Feb. 1, but why wait when there’s money on the line. You know, five out of five moms say: Money doesn’t grow on trees.
And that’s true for college investments, too. We recommend students apply early because aid is not guaranteed through the deadline.
To access Federal Student Aid’s online systems, and it will serve as your legal signature. You must have a social security number to create an FSA ID.
Everything you need to do to receive an FSA ID is located on StudentAid.gov/FSAID. Click on “Create an FSA ID Now” or create your FSA ID when you “Start a New FAFSA.”
Students in their senior year of high school should submit the FAFSA on or after October 1st and each subsequent year in college. Nine states even award state aid on a first come, first-served basis until the money runs out. Don’t Wait! Good Luck!!! Mrs. Friar
